We are willing to try new things if we have qualified volunteers. And that is just what we found with Ana, an instructor with black belts in patience, sense of humor, and Tae Kwon Do.
Week one, quite honestly, I thought Tae Kwon Do was a lot of flailing arms and legs. Last night, though, she had the girls (and Mary) working on discipline and form.
Ana also had them doing blocks, hits, and kicks across the Loyola campus. That seemed like a lot of fun until she made me hold the pads while they punched me backwards. Expanding Lives is thrilled for the girls to have a strong, confident peer as a role model in our new instructor.
